The Flagstone Foundation and The Adult Christian Education Foundation (ACEF) Have Entered into a Strategic Partnership to Launch the Chinese-language Bethel Bible Series on the Global Stage
June 24, 2022. Madison, Wisconsin.
The Flagstone Foundation and The Adult Christian Education Foundation (ACEF) announced an agreement to enter a strategic partnership to launch the Chinese-language Bethel Bible Series on the global stage. From this day on, Flagstone Foundation has exclusive rights to teach the Bethel Bible Series in Chinese worldwide.
Rev. Paul Chu, the lead pastor and board member of Flagstone Foundation, has been teaching Chinese-language Bethel Bible Series in China for 15 years. Before joining Flagstone Foundation, he worked alone and traveled to many cities and villages in mainland China, providing Bethel Bible Series training to local churches and promoting an understanding of the integrity of the Bible.
The Flagstone Foundation noticed Rev. Paul Chu’s efforts. Flagstone Foundation was founded in 2019 in Maryland. “Flagstone Foundation was founded to help spread the Gospel in China and to the Chinese,” Mr. Bing Rao, the president of Flagstone Foundation said, “We are so inspired by the group of American and European Missionaries who evangelized, and many gave their lives in 19th Century China. And, we are also inspired by Pastor Chu’s 15 years of footsteps teaching the Bethel Bible Series in China.”
The Flagstone Foundation started supporting Rev. Paul Chu to teach the Chinese-language Bethel Bible Series in China in 2020. While the pandemic substantially limited the China missionary work, the Flagstone Foundation turned to support Rev. Paul Chu’s teaching in the US in 2021. With the in-depth understanding of Rev. Paul Chu and the Bethel Bible Series, The Flagstone Foundation decided to invite Rev. Paul Chu to join its board and chose the Bethel Bible Series as the preferred alternative to train 2,000 Chinese or Chinese American pastors and campus ministry staff over the next twenty years. “This partnership will greatly enhance our ability to reach out to more Chinese people, not only in China but in North America as well.” Mr. Bing Rao said. “We pray that God blesses the partnership and opens more doors for the Gospel to be heard. John 4:35 ‘I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields. They are ripe for harvest.’”
For ACEF, one of the significant draws to The Flagstone Foundation's proposal are Chinese students on US campuses. There are typically more than 300,000 Chinese students at universities in the United States at any given time — students who do not know Jesus Christ. “Teaching about Jesus Christ through the Bethel Bible Series to even a small percentage of these students has the potential to change the world,” said ACEF Executive Director Rev. Jeff Quinto.
Both chairs of the board expressed confidence in the advancement of the mission by cooperating with each other.
“The partnership between Pastor Paul Chu and the ACEF has been a valuable one for many years - we have enormous confidence in Paster Chu’s teaching as he continues to present the Bethel Bible Series in a way that is accurate and protects the Bethel Bible Series content,” said Mary Brennan, chair of the ACEF board of directors.
“Today, we as a board, are so very pleased to formalize our partnership with the Flagstone Foundation and Pastor Chu as he continues to teach the Bethel Bible Series in Chinese, exclusively worldwide....”
“God let Bing Rao bring Rev. Paul Chu to the board of The Flagstone Foundation. We are deeply moved by the great efforts of Rev. Paul Chu and appreciate that God never forgot the Chinese people. I believe that today is a turning point for the Chinese community. Under the same mission of sharing the Gospel, we will work together and enable more people to believe in the Lord and help those who believe in the Lord to be more edified.” said Mr. Daofeng He, the chair of the board of The Flagstone Foundation.
“The Bethel Series ministry in Chinese is the result of collaboration. It has received strong support from ACEF from day one. I believe that the strategic partnership between Flagstone and ACEF is a continuation, extension, and enhancement of previous cooperations. It will be written in the history of the Bethel Bible Series in Chinese” said Rev. Paul Chu, “I am looking forward to seeing, by our Lord’s grace, this ministry become a blessing to all Chinese worldwide.”
“We are blessed to be participating in this remarkable expression of the Great Commission,” Quinto said. “to make disciples of all nations . . . teaching them all that I have commanded you . . . ”
