100 years after Harley Swiggum’s birth, we celebrate God’s amazing work in his life as author of the Bethel Bible Series and the continuing impact of this life-changing study.

Harley Swiggum was born in February 1923 and raised in a small town in Wisconsin. God guided Harley through his rebellious teenage years and a Navy career to develop a man who wanted to better understand the Scriptures and help others experience Him in a more meaningful way. God inspired Harley to create the Bethel Bible Series more than 60 years ago, and today it has:

  • Reached more than 2 million people worldwide in more than 12 languages.

  • Connected with Christians in the U.S., Canada, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, China, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, Australia, Indonesia – and more.

Who could have imagined in Harley’s youth and rebellious teen years that God would work in his life to create this life-changing Bible study? It is a legacy to Harley’s walk with God and the many lives it has impacted.
